(Beloved pink "toy box" - RIP)
Everyone has a different system for carrying demos and inventory to parties. When you're first starting out, good old Rubbermaid totes for about $5 each work just fine (and in fact, many top consultants continue to use these!). Don't invest a lot into carrying inventory right away. Start with what you have (or what is inexpensive) and as your business warrants it, you can get more elaborate if you choose :) I've used several different methods of toting inventory/demos to parties over the years including suitcases, tool boxes, plastic totes, duffle bags, and my pink demo footlocker, which was recently retired (looking shabby after a couple hundred parties). |
What I am Currently Using for Demos / Inventory
For Demos: Stanley 2-1 Mobile Work Center ($30+ at Home Depot) I have been using this for about three years now. This is actually two tool boxes. The top section snaps onto the rolling section and is removable for easy transportation by car and getting up and down stairs. In the Top Section: 2 Plano plastic boxes (about $5 each at Menards) to keep toys separate. In the Bottom Section: Lotions/lubricants/liquids organized with pencil boxes and the cardboard boxes that come in orders.
For Inventory: Large Utility Totes (from Thirty-One) & "Document Boxes" from Walmart
These are nice and deep and can accommodate about the same amount of inventory as a medium plastic bin...and I find easier on my back.
In retrospect, I probably wouldn't personalize these if I had to do over (in case I ever want to use them for something else!) One consultant's totes say "Bag of Tricks" haha!

Cardboard boxes that come in orders fit nicely inside for inexpensive organization

More Ideas....Toolboxes!

This Plano Tall Rolling Toolbox is also popular with consultants. Lightweight before you load it up. About $50 at Menards
Stanley Fat Max ($80+ at Lowe's and Home Depot) A lot of consultants use the Fat Max. However, be warned, it is large and it is HEAVY. Be sure you are comfortable maneuvering this before investing in it. LOVE how it tiers out for shopping (how professional!). I personally find it too large, but many consultants love it.
